Jorge Horta Alves (1939-2022)

SHL Portugal was born out of a pioneering idea and a firm will. We pay tribute to the founder, whose leadership and legacy live on at every stage of our journey.

Jorge Horta Alves was a key figure in SHL's career in Portugal, being a pioneering reference in the field of Human Resources consultancy in our country.

He was a professor at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon from the beginning of its creation and for 29 years, teaching the first subjects that dealt with the world of work.

A great promoter of relations between the world of work and the academic world, he contributed to the training of multiple generations of psychologists.

Horta Alves left an eternal legacy that marked all those he met: colleagues, friends, clients and students. An example as a teacher, mentor, consultant and entrepreneur.
