In general, the SHL Portugal website can be visited without revealing any personal information. There are, however, areas of the website where we require visitors to provide their personal data in order to take advantage of the services available there.
The personal data collected and processed consists of information relating to name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, town, country, postcode, nationality, gender, date of birth, ID number, driving licence.
Purposes for processing personal data

In terms of general principles regarding the processing of personal data, SHL Portugal undertakes to ensure that the data of visitors and users processed by it are:

1. Right of access
Users have the right to obtain confirmation from SHL Portugal as to whether or not their personal data is being processed and, if so, the right to access their personal data, the purposes for which it is being processed, the retention periods, etc.
2. Right to rectification
The user has the right to request the rectification of their personal data at any time, as well as the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of an additional declaration.
In the event of data rectification, SHL Portugal will inform each recipient to whom the data has been transmitted of the rectification, unless such communication proves impossible or involves a disproportionate effort for SHL Portugal.
3. Right to erasure or “right to be forgotten”
The right to obtain the erasure of personal data when there are no valid grounds for its retention, namely:
- The user's data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or processed;
- The user withdraws the consent on which the data processing is based and there is no other legal basis for said processing;
- The user objects to the processing under the right to object and there are no overriding legitimate interests justifying the processing;
- If the user's data is processed unlawfully;
- If the user's data has to be deleted in order to fulfil a legal obligation to which SHL Portugal is subject.
4. Right to limitation
The user has the right to obtain from SHL Portugal the limitation of the processing of the user's data, in the form of suspension of processing or limitation of the scope of processing to certain categories of data or processing purposes.
5. Right to data portability
You have the right to receive the data you have provided us in a commonly used, machine-readable digital format or to request that your data be transmitted directly to another organisation that will become the new party responsible for your personal data.
6. Right to object
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is based on the exercise of legitimate interests pursued by SHL Portugal or when the processing is carried out for purposes other than those for which the personal data was collected.
SHL Portugal will cease processing your data unless it has compelling legitimate reasons for doing so that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or for the purposes of asserting, exercising or defending a right of SHL Portugal in a legal proceeding.

SHL Portugal is committed to guaranteeing the protection of the security of the personal data made available to us, and has approved and implemented strict rules in this regard. Compliance with these rules is a mandatory obligation for all those who legally access personal data.
Bearing in mind SHL Portugal's great concern and commitment to defending privacy issues, various technical and organisational security measures have been adopted in order to protect the personal data made available to us against its dissemination, loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised processing or access, as well as against any other form of unlawful processing.
Depending on the nature, scope, context and purposes of the data processing, as well as the risks arising from the processing for the rights and freedoms of the visitor, SHL Portugal undertakes to apply, both at the time of defining the means of processing and at the time of the processing itself, the necessary and appropriate technical and organisational measures for the protection of personal data and compliance with legal requirements.
It also undertakes to ensure that, by default, only the data that is necessary for each specific purpose of processing is processed and that this data is not made available without human intervention to an indeterminate number of people.
